Day 3.... Tuesday May 25th

Left Pueblo, Colorado at 8am, after waking up at 6am! NOT my normal hours, but I didn't want to miss anything! haha Continued south on I25. Saw a sign for "LULU's GRUB AND GAS"...hmmm Lulu's special is the 5 bean salad, I think... Stopped in Trinidad, Colorado and met some wonderful people!! The more south I got, the friendlier the people were! Browsed some shops on Main Street: Danielson's Dry Goods & Domestic Finery, and Purgatoire River Trading Co. were so much fun!! Also, the A.R. Mitchell museum was so interesting! Really beautiful collection of Hispanic Art!











During the drive between Trinidad, Co. and Santa Fe, NM, I ran across a LOT of Erik's buddies! Occasionally, I would roll my window down and tell them what Erik thought of them. I got the same reaction and look each time...(For those of you who haven't heard the story, one of these wonderful little creatures decided it was time to 10-54 himself by running out in front of Erik in South Dakota...while he was on his Goldwing...traveling 60mph...causing over $6,000 in damage to the bike and a ride to the E.R. for Erik...one of the guys who were with him, did comment on how masterfully Erik "bounced" off the highway...)




One of the shop owners in Trinidad told me to be careful as I traveled into New Mexico. There was a large forest fire burning and Trinidad was filled with smoke the day before. Never did see any smoke or fire. I was also told that Ralph Nader's ranch was near there. Didn't see that either...but I DID run into the NRA Whittington Center Ranch! OMG!!!! Erik would have been drooling!!!!!!! I brought him back a lot of "goodies" and info.








This guy was just a hoot!! Wish I would've captured his "drawl" on video! Yeshhhh Sir!






Next, I traveled Hwy 64 through Cimmaron, Eagles Nest and Angel Fire, all the while, going through Carson National Forrest! It was gorgeous!! I stopped many times!!!



















I've wanted to go to Taos for SO many years! I MADE IT!!! It's more than I imagined. Beauty, peace, spiritual... I called Erik and told him I found a house for us! :)
