Day 4...Wednesday May 26 2010

Today I get to explore Taos, NM! Last night, while talking with Erik, he noticed that my breathing was labored. With congestive heart failure, I forgot that at the high altitudes, I really can't do much. The air is fresh and clean, but there's not as much oxygen...something I really have to be careful with. That's why my bag of UNOPENED rice cakes had grown to the point to where the bag was ready to explode!! High altitude!! So, I went at a very slow pace! First, the town...it was so nice!!










Now, onto the Taos Pueblo's, outside of town. I feel so lucky to experience this sacred place!! There was an admittance fee, and if you wanted to take pictures, you had to pay extra. I thought it was more than worth it!




The Red Willow People were very welcoming and extremely interesting to talk with! The couple that I took a picture of were full of stories, some very comical! I am to tell everyone that looks at this picture, that SHE is the boss!






The Mission/Church was beautiful. Pictures were not allowed inside.












I hope to return to Taos someday...I left and returned to I25 South. I saw the Rio Grande. It was just beautiful!!






Made it through Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Lunas (neat town!) Truth or Consequences and Hatch, which is the Chile capitol of the world! Hot peppers EVERYWHERE!! Took a shortcut to Deming and was followed by a State Patol for about 5 miles. I never went more than 5 miles over the speed limit and ALWAYS had my seatbelt on. Never had a problem. Got to Deming, grabbed a hotel for the night and would be spending the next day with my brother, Bill!
